More Than Half of Arsenal First Team Squad Missing For Tonight’s CL Kick-Off – Time for 4 – 4 – 2?

Six notable players from gunners squad are unavailable to take part in tonight’s Champions League’s clash against Standard Liege in Belgium.

In addition to Arshavin, Nasri, Walcott – Van Persie, Denilson and Almunia are also sidelined tonight. Van Persie has a knock on knee, Denilson has a back problem and Almunia is suffering from chest infection.

Almunia’s first choice replacement Fabianski is also unavailable due to knee injury which leaves Arsene Wenger to go for Vito Mannone. However, Eduardo is available after UEFA overturned his two-match ban for diving.

The Arsenal 18-man squad for tonight’s fixture is asa follows:
Vito Mannone (possible debut)
Wojciech Szczesny (possible debut)
Bacary Sagna
Gael Clichy
William Gallas
Thomas Vermaelen
Mikael Silvestre
Kieran Gibbs
Emmanuel Eboue
Alex Song
Cesc Fabregas
Abou Diaby
Aaron Ramsey
Tomas Rosicky
Jack Wilshere
Nicklas Bendtner
Eduardo
Sanchez Watt (possible debut)

So, in the absence of experienced forwards, will Arsene go back to 4-4-2 for tonight? It would have been interesting to see if Arsenal continue with same 4-3-3 in a Champions League away fixture.

God is a Gooner. Cheers!

Well this match will be very interesting, owing to the fact that six of the main squad players are side lined. And the 4-4-2 formation is the one which Wenger should obviously go for… Looking forward to match mate! Cheers to Arsenal and the great season ahead!
